This past Sunday (31), Team Liquid was champion of LCS Lock In 2021 after having managed to defeat the American Cloud9. The championship, which precedes the LCS Spring, culminated in an exciting and electrifying final that ended with a 3x2 score, guaranteeing a $ 150k prize pool for Team Liquid.

In the first two matches of the dispute, the reins were under the ownership of Team Liquid, managing to finish the first match after 24 minutes. In the second fight, Team Liquid took a little longer to finish the game, on the 28th minute. However, with only one game remaining for Liquid to become established, the team ended up making some mistakes and delivering the game to Cloud9, which won the third game on the 28th minute. After that, in the fourth match of the confrontation, Cloud9 remained firm and ended the longest game of the series, at 34 minutes. In the big final decision, we had a Team Liquid that woke up to reality and took control of the situation, ending the match after 25 minutes of play.

The LCS Lock In series was a turning point for Team Liquid, which was not in great shape in 2020. Within the series, the organization managed to accumulate six victories in its seven matches. Thus, within the Group Stage Team Liquid managed to beat the teams: Team SoloMid, Counter Logic Gaming and Golden Guardians, second only to 100 Thieves. Already advancing into the playoffs, the team managed to take down FlyQuest and the big favorite, Evil Geniuses. Finally, in the exciting grand final of the championship, Team Liquid managed to pass through Cloud9 and become the champion of LCS Lock In.
 
Team Liquid is now preparing for the first LCS split. The tournament is scheduled to take place this Friday, February 5th, and will end on March 14th.
